When first comparing Jenny Craig vs Nutrisystem, the two programs may seem almost identical. They both offer
dieters a controlled program where food is provided. Food costs are similar.
Jenny Craig meals are about $14 a day and Nutrisystem is $11 a day, although,
these numbers can vary significantly. However, these programs are quite
different in some key areas.
First, the Jenny Craig diet has a contract
and membership fees so once you sign up, you are committed. Nutrisystem doesn’t
have monthly fees or a contract. It may seem like Nutrisystem is the way to go,
but Jenny Craig offers more for the monthly fees. They have centers where
dieters can go to get counselling, weigh-in and pick-up food orders.
Nutrisystem is done exclusively online. Jenny Craig also has online service and
you can talk to consultants by telephone if desired. Jenny Craig’s membership
fee is usually quite affordable – about $1 for each pound you lose. You can get
this for even cheaper, or waive the fees, during special promotions. Dieters
feel that Nutrisystem’s food isn’t as good as Jenny Craig’s. This might be
because it is shelf stable so it is made from largely dehydrated foods. For
those that aren’t looking for a serious commitment or who want to save money,
Nutrisystem is the way to go.
